    How to start giving classes?🦋

This is my main question at the moment. At the begining i joined the 200 hours YTT course with the main intention of improving and deepening my practice but honestly I have been loving studying this course and I really feel the call of teaching.

Of course i am going to continue studying and deepening my knowledge but i think it would be very benefitial to start practicing and teaching what we already learned.

So I wanted to ask about your thoughts and experiences on this and if you have ideas on how to start gathering experience and giving your first classes.

I am starting offering some pranayama online classes for free to friends and I want to offer some sessions outside when the sun is finally shining in Finland but i wanted to ask in case you have some ideas or how did you do it if you already have experience.

I think it’s always powerful to do this things with the collective intelligence, so hopefully we can share some ideas 💖

    Thanks in advance 🙏

    Joining aswell! 🥰
I wonder when is the right timing, when is my own practice “good enough” to finally teach as a side business. Of course yoga is a lifelong journey but maybe some of you know the feeling 🧘🏽‍♀️

Yes! Absolutely know the feeling too well😅
In my case I feel like I already want to start sharing my discoveries with the 200 hours course because, even though I have attended to so many yoga classes throughout the years, there are some things that are covered in the course that I was never taught.

Realizing this fact was actually the key to unblock my fear of starting teaching, and to face the feeling of not being ready.
Of course, I would still continue studying but I do feel that we have some really good tools that we could already share and I also believe that teaching is a great way of pushing learning forward (of course, being mindful of our own knowledge and skills).

Absolutely, I totally agree. When I started the course I only wanted to learn more about yoga, but as much as I learn it is raising me the love to teach this powerful knowledge. But I am not feeling ready, hahaha, but I would love to feel ready before finishing the course in order to be able to share the experience with the community and also get feedback.

Lovely to hear. I think all this need of sharing the tools comes from really feeling the love for yoga and seeing in our own experiences how healing and transformative can be.
I feel like everyone would benefit from this so much ❤

And also I think it’s really important to be aware of our own capacity at the moment and do things when we feel like it’s the right moment. That’s really wise from you.
I wish you the best luck in this beautiful yoga journey.😊

Hi:) not really sure how to start teaching in proper yoga studios, but there’s one girl in Vienna (where I live) that rents a place and does yoga in 3 locations every week in Vienna that are pay as you wish:) she advertise it on instagram and has a nice amount of followers and it seems it’s going pretty good for her. I was thinking of stealing her idea too 😅 just to gain experience and start mostly teaching for friends but then friends have friends and the word spreads:)

I think this is a great idea to get inspired by. Let me know how it works for you!

I am planning to do something similar but during the summer here in Helsinki. Partly because I also want to start practicing outside more ofter, so hopefully more people will want to join. I could also aply the pay as you wish modality so I get a little help to fund my further studies.
Thank you for your reply 🙏

I think for me I would start giving classes for free (that’s how i started teaching dance to gain the experience) I also give private sessions and offered online options as well. I would aslo start. with affordable prices and always keeping in mind that you can teach beginner friendly sequences. And just remember that it’s never going to be perfect and just enjoy the process 🙂

Thank you!!!! I think this approach is perfect. Not expecting to know everything but being open to learn on the process. I think this is key in order to start developing confidence and actually delivering better classes🗝

I have some experience procrastinating things that I loved because I was paralized by perfectionism. For example, years ago I got the zumba teacher training but I haven’t taught yet because of fear of not being “ready”🙈

So with yoga, as I really feel called to this path, I want to learn strategies to overcome that fear and to improve and deepen my knowledge while offering the teachings that I get.
