“The style of yoga that you like might not be the style of yoga that you need”

I read this phrase before starting my yoga journey (with ashtanga vinyasa, no less) like 2 years ago and I really do like ashtanga vinyasa and hatha mostly because they are physically challenging (not sure if that´s the right reason to like´em and practice´em) however I feel they might not be what I NEED so how do I figure this out? All help is welcome 😊

    Hi @andreapeyratrondan ,

if your daily life routines are also challenging , active kind of actions and your mind doesn`t let you rest even when you try to sleep or rest 😀 then we can not talk about a balance existence there, so that it is a call for a balance and you need slower pace of actions, yoga style, at least for while. Your system, mind-hearth will tell you if they are in peace or in a mess 😀

Hi @andreapeyratrondan , I, too, heard this phrase before. And, for me, it clicked when I watched the Ayurveda videos in module 19. Depending on the kind of person you are, you can balance yourself out with the kind of yoga you do. For example, I am very fiery, so power yoga or Ashtanga classes really kind of make me even more competitive and sometimes agitated, frustrated. So yes, I do love them. But I feel much better after Yin Yoga or like doing only cooling poses balancing my fire… all the best on your journey ❤
